English 101: Singular and Plural Forms in Measurement

Sometimes, it is really very hard to use the singular or plural form of words used in measurement such as foot, peso, dollar, year, minute, etc.

As a general rule, use the singular form of the words when they are used as ADJECTIVES (Pang-uri in Filipino); when the words are used as NOUNS (Panggalan in Filipino) use their plural form.

Examples:
1. Kris Aquino signed a three - year contract with ABS-CBN. (adjective)
2. His employment contract abroad is for two years. (noun)

3. Ana has a twenty-dollar bill. (adjective)
4. Watermelon costs three dollars a piece. (noun)

ALS A&E Test Schedule 2014

Hindi ko alam kung ako ay namamalikmata lamang pero hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko masilip sa webpurok ng DepEd kung mayroon na ba silang iskedyul na pagsusulit para sa Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) sa taong ito ng 2014.

Datirati kasi ay inaanunsyo na ito ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon malayo pa ang mga araw ng pagsusulit. Sa taong ito ay tila nahuli sila ng abiso. Marami pa naman ang nagtatanong sa site na ito kung may schedule na raw.

Sa mga naging karanasan, tuwing October o November kada taon ginaganap ang ALS A&E exam. Kaya sa mga nagrereview para rito, maghanda-handa na at malapit na ito.

Kung paano makapagrerehistro, magtungo lamang sa mga District office ng DepEd. Maaari ring magtanong sa mga principal ng mga paaralang-bayan.
